At Primitive Log and Timberworks, most of the timber framing we do is to compliment our pioneer log structures and homestead re-creations. We build small custom barns of all shapes and sizes for animals, vehicle storage, workshops, studios and guest cabins. We offer timber framed room additions to our log cabins that make beautiful kitchen/dinning rooms, bath/utility and storage room, sun rooms, etc. Most commonly in the form of a lean-to type extension or to form an L-shaped plan with a summer kitchen on the back. These additions can be any size and can have unlimited uses but still keep the authentic look throughout. Built of massive posts and plates and the old mortise and tenon fashion with wood pegs fastening the joints. They are very attractive and can be custom designed to suit all of your needs. A real nice way to expand your floor plan and still look great with your original log building. Timber framed out buildings are also a wonderful addition to any spread. Try adding an authentic barn,a smoke house, sugar shack, wood shed, animal shelter or cookout pavilion to your place. Whatever you desire, we can build it.
